I am originally from Seattle, WA, and I joined the Tamplin Lab as a Research Intern after graduating from the University of Washington in Seattle in 2025. I began as a research assistant at the University of Washington Department Genome Sciences in 2023. I joined Stan Fields lab where I worked as a student technician and also helped to develop a deep mutational scanning of viral enzyme substrate variants to pilot-test a new technology for variant RNA-barcoding. I then worked under mentorship of David Kimelman and Andrea Wills from 2024-2025 to study the role of GTP metabolism in the cellular dynamics of vertebrate muscle formation in zebrafish and Xenopus. I am most curious about comparative evolutionary genomics, the biology of tissue plasticity and regeneration across vertebrate species, and learning microscopy techniques.
